WHAT ARE PUREES / PULPS ?

Pulps / Purees have a thick and creamy consistency and are prepared by crushing, pressing, and sifting the fruits / vegetables. The majority of the fruit or vegetable’s insoluble fibrous portions are retained, along with all of the juice. The purees are a good source of vitamins, minerals, and fibre. Purees are frequently carefully pasteurised in order to minimize the juice’s microbial load whilst preserving its nutritional value.

WHAT ARE CONCENTRATES / PASTES ?

Concentrates are produced by removing water from fruit juice. Water evaporation, which is often done in a vacuum, can improve juice yield by up to seven times. After that, water is used to reconstitute the concentrate.

WHAT ARE ASEPTIC PUREES ?

Aseptic purees are produced using the aseptic processing technique in which the perishable food items like fruits and vegetables (in a liquid form) are made shelf-stable meaning that they do not need refrigeration. This is done via commercially thermally sterilizing or pasteurizing the puree and packaging them under sterile conditions into sterilized packaging.

The harmful bacteria are sufficiently eliminated under this process.

WHAT IS SINGLE STRENGTH vs DOUBLE STRENGTH ?

Single strength means that just the pulp will be extracted from the edible parts of the fruit or vegetable without any further concentration. This process retains the original characteristics and brix of the raw material.

While double strength means that the pulp/ puree or the juice concentrate has been further concentrated (made thicker) thereby increasing the brix and altering the other characteristics of the raw material.

WHAT IS THE SHELF-LIFE OF YOUR PRODUCTS ?

Shelf life for each product is printed on the label, affixed to each drum/box. Generally, the shelf-life ranges between 18 months to 24 months without opening.

DO WE NEED TO KEEP THE PRODUCTS REFRIGERATED AT ALL TIMES ?

Only the IQF or Frozen products need to be stored at -18-degree Celsius at all times. The aseptic products do not need to be refrigerated unless opened.
